What we do

We provide actors with business experience and facilitation skills for development programmes, assessment centres and conferences. We are able to provide personnel according to your needs on an entirely bespoke basis, but typically our contribution falls into one of the following categories:
- Role-play – Role-play is the single most effective way of practising skills in a safe environment, and yet for many it can be a daunting experience. So getting it right is crucial. Our role-players are capable of gauging the skills, experience and learning needs of an individual and responding accordingly, as well as providing constructive feedback sensitively and honestly, while for assessment centres, our actors bring consistency to scenarios and give observers as much opportunity as possible to assess relevant competencies.
- Forum Theatre – Forum theatre is interactive theatre which puts the audience in the driving seat, allowing delegates to respond to and influence a piece of theatre of their choosing (or ours). It takes the form of a performance involving at least two actors and a scenario which reflects your key development needs. As the scenario unfolds, the actors will ask delegates for guidance on how to handle the situation. Delegates can rewind the action and try different approaches so it’s immediately responsive to the needs of the course members. Forum Theatre gets people talking and sharing best practice, exploring behaviours in a participatory, user-friendly way.
- Scripted sketches – Theatre brings issues to life in a way that speeches and presentations simply cannot do. It’s exciting, thought-provoking and memorable, and it’s a fantastic way of exploring and raising awareness of emotive or sensitive issues. The inclusion of acted scenes as part of a workshop allows you to send a powerful message to your audience in a way that isn’t directive or imposing. It’s a way of holding a mirror up to your people and asking the question; “what do you recognise about yourself?”
- Digital Media – CentreStage provides a complete video production service, from initial brief to finished product, including story boarding, scripting, casting, filming and editing. Video can be an excellent tool to accompany facilitator-led learning, as a reference guide or an introduction to a development programme. With a proven track-record of producing bespoke digital media, CentreStage guarantees excellent quality and value.

“Using professional roleplayers is the closest thing I've found to allowing individuals to practice skills for real. From my own experience, participants rate using professional roleplayers way ahead of traditional methods - it's now one of the first options I consider when designing skills development events. Working with Centrestage is effective and fun - they have built a great deal of expertise in this field and carefully listen to understand and meet the clients' requirements.”
